At its core, the role of the Client Director is to be the client lead on two of dentsu’s key key tech clients.
 
  • Global Carat brand-aligned years-long relationship with global Tech giant
  • Global iProspect brand-aligned relationship with another Global Tech company.

You will manage and oversee these tier 1 clients, building highly effective interpersonal relationships in Singapore and beyond to become a key strategic advisor for your clients.
 
You will be responsible for leading integrated planning (where required), strategy development, performance planning and operations, client profitability, client organic revenue growth and ensuring the onshore and offshore teams deliver faultless campaign execution across established and new to market media channels and platforms.
 
Both accounts under this role’s care are hubbed in Singapore:
  • Global Carat brand-aligned years-long relationship with global Tech giant (several APAC markets); Estimated allocation of time: 85-90%
  • Global iProspect brand-aligned relationship with another Global Tech company (APAC Wide with emphasis on Australia and India); Estimated allocation of time: 10-15%

What You'll Be Doing

Client's trusted advisor
 
  • Be the senior point of contact for multiple clients across Singapore and the region and build highly effective interpersonal relationships. Expectation is that you will spend considerable face to face time with clients to foster a partnership mentality, not delivery mentality.
  • Become the client’s trusted advisor within the business, proactively addressing issues on both the client and dentsu sides to improve business performance. The ability to have difficult conversations with clients is an imperative.
  • Manage annual client development roadmap to monitor client satisfaction and proactively introduce dentsu solutions where relevant to increase client product diversity.
  • Work collaboratively with teams from other dentsu service lines to deliver our single P&L philosophy, ensuring clients receive a seamless service.
  • Attend and represent the team at important external and internal client meetings, including senior management status meetings, briefing sessions, campaign reviews, QBRs etc.
 
Client strategy development
 
  • Fully understand client business objectives / communication objectives and ensure these are translated into meaningful, solution focused digital strategies.
  • Leading hub structures for 2 key Tech Clients, incorporating understanding of local market and regional business and marketing objectives
  • Work closely with account leads in other markets as necessary to develop world-class media strategies & plans
  • Work closely with the global team and provide markets insights as well as cascade global directions / processes to markets
  • Proactively position dentsu as the media centre of excellence for your client. Take the lead on all internal and external media conversations.
  • Work closely with global client team on HQ requests & initiatives
 
Team & workload management
 
  • Effective management of client expectations is essential; support your teams to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of work, identifying improvements to ways of working where required.
  • Be responsible for the development of managers within your team, including the setting of personal objectives and performance reviews.
 
Client profitability and finance
 
  • Be responsible for the delivery of revenue across the clients your teams and pursue all potential cross sell / up sell opportunities
  • Ensure your teams and the central billing teams are completing billing and reconciliation of campaign spend / income in a timely and accurate manner so suppliers are paid on time, and clients are invoiced on time
 
Product development & new business
 
  • Remain abreast of developments in media and contribute towards internal PR targets
  • Work closely with the Client President on client development to deliver new business RFPs and pitches as required
  • Leverage relationships with media partners to identify innovative solutions to client challenges, with the focus on creating case studies and award entries


Skills You'll Need

Key Experiences
 
  • Minimum 7 years’ agency side experience in a digital strategy, planning, and/or execution role
  • Experience managing a team to deliver best-in-class client campaigns
  • Experience managing senior client relationships independently
 
Professional Skills
 
  • Articulate presenter, with the ability to present to senior clients and internal agency teams, comfortable with showing what data means and how we can take action based upon it
  • Passionate about and engaged with the fast-changing world of digital media
  • Good understanding of planning integrated campaigns across the various mechanisms, channels and buying models
  • Strongly numerate and comfortable manipulating data sets
  • Highly literate with a good understanding of how language is used to communicate to different audiences.
  • Commitment to deliver first class work every time, and never leave a quality issue unchecked
  • Highly commercial - selling value, negotiation, client relationship management skills, how to be a trusted business advisor
  • Excellent planning, analytical and organisational skills alongside high attention to detail
