Meet Agnes Ang, Digital Marketing Graduate
In one sentence, who is Agnes? I’m a multilingual strategist and operator who speaks the languages of data, ROI, and human relationships to navigate complex deadlocks and drive high-impact outcomes.
What was the "mountain" you had to climb during your Google Skills Ignition traineeship? One of the biggest challenges was leading the regional expansion of a creative optimisation tool, scaling it from a local AUNZ tool to an APAC-wide solution. The challenge was navigating a regional rollout without a clear framework, including securing resources and market buy-in.
I addressed this by building a phased execution plan and partnering with the original AUNZ team to develop an APAC MVP. This helped secure cross-functional alignment and support for a full-scale rollout. This experience sharpened my ability to drive growth through proactive problem-solving, stakeholder negotiation, and maintaining the agility to pivot based on feedback.
AI is becoming a powerful tool in modern operations. How did you integrate AI into your workflow during the traineeship? I treat AI as a technical force multiplier. Using Gemini’s Guided Learning and NotebookLM, I quickly picked up SQL, Google Cloud Platform, and Apps Script to build a centralised data pipeline for APAC partners. This automated a manual reporting process and reduced operational overhead by 85%. AI allows me to move from managing projects to actively building the tools that solve problems.
How do you see your work contributing to Singapore’s tech landscape in the next year? My goal is to bridge global scale with local nuance. By combining market-level data with AI-driven insights, I hope to help international brands localise their strategies for Singapore and the wider region. I want to be a catalyst for growth that feels local, scales globally, and creates reciprocal value for both organisations and the communities they serve.
Any final words for hiring managers looking for someone with your unique profile? My superpower is what I call strategic empathy. In operations, the “how” is often technical, but the “why” is always human. I focus on identifying where data-driven goals may encounter human friction, then building the relationships and solutions needed to turn that friction into alignment.
