You spent years working in law enforcement. What perspective does that experience bring to the tech world? My background as a police officer equipped me with resilience, patience, negotiation skills, and adaptability under pressure. Having worked with diverse individuals in high-stakes situations, I learned how to navigate complex dynamics to uncover critical information. Today, I apply that same investigative rigour to analysing and refining insights from complex data.
What was the "mountain" you had to climb during your Google Skills Ignition traineeship? I delivered a 95-use-case Google Cloud Platform demonstration for a major client within a four-day deadline. This high-pressure engagement required mastering unfamiliar products through disciplined, self-directed upskilling. My ability to rapidly bridge technical knowledge gaps proved essential to building high-quality Proofs of Concept. By maintaining strict attention to detail and self-managing my learning, I successfully validated the platform’s breadth of capabilities through a comprehensive suite of demonstrations.
How do you see your work contributing to Singapore’s tech landscape in the next year? I’m motivated to pivot my career toward technology for the public good. Whether through improving public services, optimising operational efficiency, or using data to solve systemic challenges, I want my work to contribute to a more equitable and functional society.
