Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. YouTube’s Trust and Safety team is dedicated to making YouTube a safe place for users, viewers, and content creators around the world to belong, create, and express themselves. Whether understanding and solving their online content concerns, navigating within global legal frameworks, or writing and enforcing worldwide policy, the Trust and Safety team works to enhance the YouTube experience, building internet safety, and protecting free speech in our ever-evolving digital world.
 
In this role, you will assist with the implementation and enforcement of YouTube's business generation policies with a focus on driving and executing on team wide initiatives. You’ll work with our data analyst team to develop analyses that inform strategic projects.
 
This role will require on-call work at weekends and holidays on a rotational basis.

What You'll Be Doing
 
  • Lead data driven projects and quantify their impact.
  • Represent a well-researched, data-driven, user-focused stance for Google that balances users, advertisers, product, and brand considerations across a variety of policy issues and platforms.
  • Conduct complex queries and analysis, build statistical and visual models, and construct presentations on abuse trends to aid in fraud prevention and influence change in existing abuse detection systems.
  • Partner with cross-functional groups such as Engineering, Product, and Sales on machine-learning initiatives to increase automation, develop front-end tools, update policies, fix product issues, and provide a better experience for advertisers.
  • Review or be exposed to sensitive/violative content.


Skills You'll Need

Minimum qualifications
 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in data analysis, working with databases and querying (e.g., SQL, MySQL, MapReduce, Hadoop, etc.).
  • 4 years of experience with coding and scripting languages for data analysis (e.g., Python, R, etc.).
 
Preferred qualifications
 
  • Experience in applying machine learning, artificial intelligence, or advanced statistical methods to solve large and unstructured business problems.
  • Understanding of how the Internet works economically, socially, and technically.
  • Ability to work collaboratively to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Ability to navigate and influence cross-functional stakeholders at executive levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly communicate technical concepts with multiple cross-regional and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • A passion for innovation, technology, and Google products.
