The Role

As a Data Analyst on the Annalect team, you will be tasked with aiding in the transformation of vast data sets into compelling and actionable insights.
 
You will work directly with other analysts and consultants in BI Visualization team, as well as client and agency teams, to communicate your findings and build strategies around them.
 
Day-to-day
 
  • Working closely with stakeholders (both internal and external) to centralise high-quality data from various sources.
  • Assess quality of data through various techniques.
  • Communicate data insights and outliers through impactful data visualisation and storytelling.
  • Build dashboards using visualization tools such as Datorama, Data Studio and others
 
 
What You'll Be Doing
 
  • Generating and communicating clear, compelling and actionable insights
  • Maintaining dashboards and reports
  • Gathering data through various third party media platforms and analytics tools
  • Ensuring that client facing and internal reporting is done in a timely manner
  • Identifying opportunities to continuously improve processes
  • Presenting reports to clients during monthly and weekly phone calls
  • Work on channel mix, audience targeting and budgeting analysis for this client
  • Work with the Manager, BI Visualization and the wider Annalect and OMG agencies teams to devise solutions to difficult, ad hoc questions as they arise
  • Work with the Manager, BI Vocalization and the PHD strategy teams to identify opportunities, sell into the client, and partner to execute advanced analytics and data science needs
  • Build data insights through impactful data visualisation and storytelling.
  • Build and maintain taxonomy for various media channels to ensure correct data collection
  • Provide support and maintenance of dashboards to ensure availability and performance of developed reports and dashboards; Working with Data Governance teams to build data checks to constantly improve the data integrity and accuracy of dashboards
  • Design and implement the development of automated QA processes to ensure data accuracy and timeliness
 
 
Skills You'll Need
 
  • Strong data processing & data visualisation skills
  • Strong knowledge and experience of visualisation tools such as Datorama, Data Studio, Power BI, etc
  • Knowledge of 1 or more of: Python, R, SQL
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communicator with well-developed written and verbal skills, ideally in the media industry (marketing also considered)
  • Have a proven track record in developing solid relationships with clients
  • Project management experience
 
Experience
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, engineering, information management, social sciences or business/marketing related fields. Advanced degree (MBA / MS) is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a data analytics and visualization area (Datorama, Data Studio, Power BI etc)
  • Experience in SQL, Python, R
  • Familiarity with SAS, SPSS, R or other advanced analytics software packages
  • Ability to manipulate and troubleshoot large data sets
  • A strong desire to learn and passion for both performance marketing and analytics
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a number of concurrent tasks
  • Ability to clearly explain complex technical ideas to multiple audiences both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work well with others and work in cross functional teams
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint is a requirement for the role
  • Prior agency experience is a plus
  • Familiar with advertising channels and platforms: Facebook, Google Ads, DV360 and others
  • Familiarity with at least some of the following tools: marketing technology (e.g. Data Management Platforms), ad-serving (e.g. Google DCM, Atlas), web analytics (e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics), social (e.g. Facebook Insights, Twitter Insights, Crimson Hexagon)
  • Detail oriented and good organizational skills
