Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for food ingredients, ensuring alignment with company goals, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers/vendors based on criteria such as price, quality, reliability, and delivery timelines.
- Conduct market research and analysis to stay updated on food ingredient trends, prices, and availability, and provide insights to the management team.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, favorable payment terms, and ensure long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, quality control, and finance, to understand ingredient requirements and ensure smooth procurement processes.
- Manage supplier relationships, conduct regular supplier performance reviews, and address any issues or disputes that may arise.
- Monitor and track supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality control, and adherence to contractual obligations.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize the procurement process to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall supply chain performance.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures related to procurement and food safety.
- Prepare reports, metrics, and analysis related to procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings.
- Bachelor's degree
- Proven experience of 2-3 years in procurement within the food industry, preferably in food ingredients.
- Strong knowledge of food ingredient specifications, market trends, and sourcing strategies.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Sound understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and supplier performance evaluation.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Result-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and quality control practices is an advantage.
